Tên hoá học : toluol, methyl Benzene.
1. Mô tả sản phẩm :
Toluene là một chất lỏng khúc xạ, trong suốt, không màu, độ bay hơi cao, có mùi thơm nhẹ, không tan trong cồn, ether, acetone và hầu hết các dung môi hữu cơ khác, tan ít trong nước.
2.Ứng dụng
a.Sơn bề mặt
Toluene được dùng chủ yếu trong các ứng dụng cần khả năng hoà tan và độ bay hơi cao nhất. Một ứng dụng như thế là sản xuất nhựa tổng hợp.
Toluene được dùng rộng rãi trong cả sơn xe hơi và sơn đồ đạc trong nhà, sơn quét, và sơn tàu biển.
Toluene cũng được dùng làm chất pha loãng và là một thành phần trong sản phẩm tẩy rữa.
b.Keo dán
Bởi vì Toluene có khả năng hoà tan mạnh nên nó được dùng trong sản xuất keo dán và các sản phẩm cùng loại, dùng trong keo dán cao su, ximăng cao su
c.Phụ gia cho nhiên liệu
Toluene được dùng làm chất cải thiện chỉ số octane của xăng dầu, và làm chất mang phụ gia cho nhiên liệu.Thông thường, khi thêm chỉ một lượng tương đối nhỏ Toluene vào xăng dầu sẽ làm tăng đáng kế chỉ số octane của nhiên liệu.
